If the thought of spending your wedding day being told where to stand makes you want to hide behind the nearest bridesmaid, you’re probably in the right place.
I’m Nigel, a Natural Wedding Photographer based in the North East. I photograph weddings in Newcastle, Northumberland, County Durham, North Yorkshire, the Lake District and beyond.
My approach is relaxed and documentary, with a bit of direction when you need it and plenty of space to simply enjoy yourselves.
I’ll capture the big moments, but I’m just as interested in everything happening around them.
The laughs, the happy tears, the dodgy dancing, the hugs, the little looks between you, the things that you didnt even realise were happening….thats what makes your wedding yours.

NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WITHOUT THE AWKWARD POSING
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need to be comfortable in front of a camera. And you definitely don’t need to spend hours standing around while I arrange you like you’re on a photoshoot.
I’ll guide you when it’s useful, particularly for a few relaxed portraits and the family photographs you want, but for most of the day I’ll simply be watching, anticipating and photographing what’s happening naturally.
If something funny happens, I’ll photograph it. If someone cries, I’ll photograph it.
If everyone ends up on the dancefloor going completely mad, I’ll definitely photograph that.

A CAMERA & CANNY BANTER
I’ve been photographing weddings for over 15 years and have photographed more than 500 weddings.
Over that time I’ve learnt that people generally take better photographs when they’re relaxed. So rather than making you feel like you’re performing for the camera, I’ll get to know you, make you feel comfortable and let you get on with being yourselves.
I’ll blend in with your guests as much as possible and keep things calm and straight forward.
There might also be some canny banter.

MY PROMISE TO YOU
NO FUSS, RELAXED AND FUN
NO ENDLESS POSING
I won’t have you standing around posing all day. For most couples, a few relaxed photographs together are enough. We’ll find somewhere with good light, have a wander, chat, have a laugh and get some photographs that feel natural. Then you can get back to your guests.
NO PRESSURE TO PERFORM
If you’re not used to having your photograph taken, that’s completely fine. Most people aren’t. You don’t need to suddenly become models for the day. I’ll give you enough direction to make things easy without making everything look staged.
YOUR WEDDING YOUR WAY
Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot.
It’s your wedding.
So I’ll work around what you’re doing rather than expecting you to spend the day working around me. If you want to spend more time with your friends, do it.
If you want to hit the dancefloor early, go for it.
The photography should fit around your day.

FULL DAY COVERAGE from prep until party
From the prep in the morning until the dancing in the evening I’ll stay and capture it all. The ceremony, speeches, candid moments, details and drunk dancing…nothing will be missed.
